Press release

The incredibly popular horse jumping show Gina Tricot Grand Prix Borås will be part of the international 3-star status 2016.

Since the start in 2009, the organisers have continuously worked to raise the bar for the show, and every year they have introduced new elements to surprise and exceed expectations. The show has also hosted the Swedish Indoor Championships two years in a row. But 2016 the show changes direction and becomes an international 3-star competition.

Despite previous focus on the Swedish elite, our goal has always been to give this show a luxurious, international feel. To take the leap and aim to attract international riders feels just right, says Helen Hagström, Show Manager.

The show takes place in the beautiful arena of Borås Fältrittklubb. Many regard Gina Tricot Grand Prix as the starting point that led several Swedish shows to develop and become comparable with the setting, tracks, and prize sums that you previously had to travel to Europe to get. This has helped Swedish riders to develop on home ground, as they don’t have to invest in as many long and expensive trips to Europe.

– As usual the show takes place right before the World Cup in Gothenburg, which we hope will suit the international riders that are competing, says Anna Appelqvist, Show Coordinator.

In March 2016 one can enjoy world-class horse jumping, show elements and festivities in great atmosphere. The definitive list of competitors will be revealed a few weeks before the show. But the entire Swedish elite has been patrons of the show since the start, so the organisers can almost guarantee that Malin Baryard, Peder Fredricson, and the rest of the Swedish National Team will be there.
